According to statistics, in 2012, China's key backbone mold enterprises reached nearly 110. Among them, stamping dies account for about 37%, and China has become a veritable automobile mold manufacturing country.

  China's automobile mold production capacity is superior in the world. However, due to the slow technological advancement of domestic automobile mold enterprises, the lack of technological innovation capabilities and the development and application of new mold technologies, the development capability of domestic molds cannot meet the needs of the domestic automobile industry. Supporting demand, a large part of automotive molds still need to rely on imports. Therefore, the domestic auto mold industry needs to fill this shortcoming as soon as possible to make up for a major deficiency in China's auto mold industry.

  China's auto industry, as China's top ten revitalization industries, has received national policy support and the promotion of autos going to the countryside. Major Chinese auto companies have increased production. In 2012, China's auto production exceeded 19 million vehicles, maintaining its position in production and sales. Luo Baihui said that manufacturing an ordinary car itself requires about 1500 molds, including nearly 1,000 stamping molds and more than 200 interior parts molds. Affected by the rapid development of China's auto industry,   China's auto mold industry has shown rapid growth, and the market capacity has continued to expand. According to the level of the developed countries in the automobile industry such as Japan and the United States, if the proportion of China's mold service in the automobile manufacturing industry can reach 40% by 2015, the total sales of China's auto mold industry will reach 70 billion yuan by 2015.

  With the gradual increase of China's auto production, domestic and foreign auto mold companies have shown their talents in the Chinese auto market, to a certain extent to meet the fierce domestic demand and export demand, but also create a good opportunity for the upgrading of China's auto mold industry . It can be seen that the prospect of China's auto mold industry is very broad.

Since the project of Changchun Automobile Factory was launched in the 1950s, it has not stopped. Entering the 21st century, China's automobile mold industry has experienced great development. The design and manufacture of the car cover mold has the characteristics of great difficulty and high quality and precision requirements, which is the embodiment of the car mold level. After years of development, China's current molds for automotive services have accounted for about one-third of the total mold output, which shows the important position of automotive molds in the mold industry and the automotive industry. In particular, automobile cover molds are directly related to automobile models, so their status is particularly important.
